Goal

How to use the Engineering Studio

Complete the five steps in order, then read the live preview as if you were the model receiving it. Every field is optional, but more relevant detail produces a stronger score and a more dependable prompt.

Reusable constraints your guardrails

Constraints are reusable rules that control the answer. Choose only the rules that matter for this job: for example, Use only supplied facts prevents invention, Maximum 500 words controls length, and Executive summary first controls structure. Avoid contradictory choices such as No tables while requesting a table output. They are included in the final prompt as a clear checklist.

Technique, role and context

The technique tells the model how to approach the work. Use Zero Shot for straightforward tasks, Few Shot when you can provide examples, Plan First for complex work, Structured Output for strict formats, and Self Critique for a final quality check. The role supplies specialist perspective; context explains the situation, constraints and success criteria the role must work within.

Quality score and validation

The score is a practical completeness indicator, not an AI evaluation. It increases when you define the goal, role, audience, context, source material, output and constraints. The validation panel identifies missing items that commonly cause vague prompts. Resolve the messages most relevant to your task before copying.

Library, domain packs and exports

Open a prebuilt prompt or domain pack to load its settings into the Builder, then adapt every field. Save your finished prompt to the browser library. Export/import Library JSON to move saved prompts; download produces a Markdown prompt, while Print creates a clean printable version. Domain packs bundle reusable specialist context, vocabulary and quality rules for a domain.

Prompt Library

Saved locally in this browser. Export or import JSON for portability.

Domain Packs

Create a reusable pack of specialist rules, vocabulary and constraints. Packs are portable JSON.

Free Offline Studio

Universal Prompt Engineering Studio

Complete User Guide & Engineering Framework Documentation

The Studio is an offline prompt-building tool. It does not call any AI API; it helps you create a structured prompt to paste into ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, Copilot, Perplexity, or another model.

How the Studio works

flowchart LR
    A[Choose a goal] --> B[Select model and domain]
    B --> C[Set role and context]
    C --> D[Define input and output]
    D --> E[Choose technique]
    E --> F[Review live prompt]
    F --> G[Resolve quality warnings]
    G --> H[Copy or Save]

The Studio follows a linear engineering framework to ensure no critical context is missed. By guiding the user through specific professional vectors, it prevents the generic “hallucinations” often caused by vague, unstructured prompting.

Builder: Five Steps

1. Prompt Goal

Select the main outcome: Create, Analyze, Explain, Compare, Audit, Generate, Improve, Rewrite, Translate, Brainstorm, Research, Summarize, Review, Plan, Design, Optimize, Debug, Teach, Evaluate, Recommend. Use “Custom goal” for complex strategies.

2. AI Model and Domain

The domain determines industry frameworks. Examples: SEO (Search intent, EEAT), Cybersecurity (OWASP, threat modeling), Finance (Risk, assumptions), Legal (Compliance, jurisdiction).

3. Role, Audience, and Context

Define who the AI is and why it is working. For professional-grade results, follow this context pattern:

Background ? Current challenge ? Desired outcome ? Success measure ? Constraints

4. Input and Output Design

Input types: Plain text, Tables, Markdown, HTML, JSON, XML, URLs, Logs, Notes.
Output types: Bullets, Checklist, Table, JSON, Business report, SOP, Blog, Presentation outline.

Constraints: No assumptions, Use only supplied facts, Max 500 words, Step by step, Executive summary first, Include actionable recommendations.

Live Preview and Quality Analyzer

The analyzer scores prompt completeness (0-100) by checking for missing roles, context, or instructions. Use the loop below to finalize your work:
