Neem Karoli Baba

Maharajji • A research focused resource covering his life, teachings, stories, books, predictions, original archival media, Kainchi Dham travel and the people influenced by his legacy.

Research standard: historical records, first person testimony, devotional tradition and unverified claims are kept separate. Extraordinary stories are preserved without presenting supernatural explanations as scientifically established facts.

Who Was Neem Karoli Baba?

Neem Karoli Baba, widely known to devotees as Maharajji, was a twentieth century Indian saint strongly associated with Hanuman bhakti, Ram Naam, seva and feeding people. His international legacy expanded through disciples and visitors including Ram Dass, Krishna Das, Larry Brilliant and other Western seekers.

Unlike many modern religious teachers, Maharajji left no systematic philosophical treatise. Much of what is known about his personal style comes through recollections, photographs, surviving audio and books compiled from devotees. Ram Dass’s Miracle of Love is particularly important because its publisher description says the material was gathered from more than one hundred devotees and more than two thousand stories, while also acknowledging that the editor could not independently authenticate every story.

1Love

Universal love and acceptance are recurring themes in recollections of Maharajji.

2Serve

Service, feeding people and helping others were practical expressions of devotion.

3Remember

Ram Naam and remembrance of God were central to the tradition around him.

52 Week Kainchi Dham Crowd and Quiet Visit Planner

The table below covers the next 52 weeks from 28 September 2026 through 26 September 2027. It combines the available Aug 2025–Jun 2026 monthly visitor series with seasonal road and pilgrimage considerations. It does not invent hourly visitor counts. The hourly windows are planning recommendations based on expected crowd patterns, opening routines and the strong advantage of arriving early.

Most consistently useful low crowd rule: Tuesday to Thursday, arrive near opening, and finish darshan before the late morning build-up. September and February were the lowest months in the available monthly series. June is the strongest high traffic warning, especially around 15 June.
