By implementing the Robots Exclusion Protocol, this file dictates which areas of a website crawl bots can or cannot access. Managing this access is critical for maintaining site health, protecting sensitive data, and maximizing visibility in search engine results pages.

Website architecture often includes sections that offer no value to search engine indexes, such as internal search result pages, backend administrator panels, or temporary staging environments.
