The state of Andhra Pradesh is stretched along the eastern coast of southern India, sharing its boundary with Odisha, Chhattisgarh, and Telangana in North, Tamil Nadu in South, the Bay of Bengal to the east periphery and Karnataka in the west and South west. Devotees from all over the world come here to taste the wholesome Prasad. The timing to visit Tirupati is from 10 to 3 pm. KSRTC provides with its fleet of brand new Volvos/Mercedes vehicles and services; they have high-frequency services.TTD has two complexes for the pilgrims to come. Araku Valley
Araku is a hill station famous for its beautiful green nature. Located near a forest; so if a person loves the beach, forest and hills Araku are the only place in India that can offer all of them. Trekking and adventures are also an added advantage of this awesome tourist spot. The climate is pleasing all round the year, and it can be visited during the winters as well. You can be the witness of the age-old folk dance called the Dheema dance of the aborigines which performed in the region at the time of Itika Pongal which is conducted every year in April. Lepakshi
Lepakshi has a brilliant historical heritage starting in the age of Ramayana according to the legends. It is a culturally and archaeologically significant place that exhibits excellent paragon of art and architecture. The famous frescos and murals are a timeless piece of art. Following this, it is a home to the miraculous hanging pillars and a cave chamber where Sage Agastya is said to have lived for many years. Here you can visit Mata Sita’s footprint, largest monolithic Nagalinga, etc. Nearest airport to Lepakshi is the Bangalore airport which is 100 km away from it. Cab’s of KSRTC bus easily available to reach Lepakshi. Or you can avail Railways to reach Lepakshi, the nearest train station is Hindpur, only in 14 km distance from here. In Hindpur there are lots of buses and cabs to take you to the destination. Lepakshi is a beautiful place that every religious person would love to visit.
Mantralayam
Mantralayam is a holy town situated at a distance of only 100 km from Kurnool. The main attraction of the city is the Temple and Mutt complex. The Tungabhadra River is worth a visit. You can complete your Darshan within a few hours. Choose an offering room closest to the temple. The offering room rents are very cheap. You can also book hotels near the temple. The temple offers lunch and dinner to the devotees. There are some restaurants also just outside the temple that offers veg food. Most devotees go for a bath in the river next morning. The site is famous for the Raghavendra Swami Temple. The best time to visit the temple is during evening aarti. Other attractions of the place are Panchmukhi Anjaneya Temple, Lakshmi Venkateshwara Temple & Vedic Pathshala. The shrine of Manchalamma is next to it, both lying near the Tungabhadra river.The place around the temple is strictly vegetarian no non-vegetarian food not available here. Few restaurants have south Indian food delicacies on their menu. Men have to wear dhoti and women are expected to wear India ethnic dresses like saree or salwar kameez to get an entry in the temple.
Papikondalu
Papi Kondalu or Papi hills situated at 124 km from Khammam district. The area around the hills is beautiful with the nice view of nature. The mountain ranges of Papi hills named in Telegu that means the partition women make in their hair. The aerial view of the field looks like the partition of women hair. One unique attraction of Papi Kondalu is the Kolluru bamboo huts in Kolluru tribal village adjacent to the area. You can enjoy your night stay in the huts- an entirely different experience altogether. It is ideal for people who want to take rest in nature’s lap for a few days. The Food joints are not so good in Papi Kondalu but compensated with the stay in the bamboo huts as a pleasant experience for tourists. The next day you can also explore the forest area with a guide. As summers are scorching there, make sure you plan your trip just after monsoon to the end of February. The food may be carried from the nearest city like Rajahmundry as the place do not offer good food service options.
Rajahmundry
Rajahmundry is a beautiful place in Andhra Pradesh. It is the cultural capital of Andhra Pradesh. The major language of South India Telegu originated here. It is the birth place of poet Nannayya, who is called the first poet in Telegu language. The city of Rajahmundry is 400 km away from the capital city, Hyderabad. Tourists who want to visit Rajahmundry have lots of good options for accommodation here. All the renowned hotels in the city include Anand Regency Hotel, Vaishnavi Hotel, Royal Fort Hotel, Hotel Jetty Grand, Ashraya Residency Hotel, New Monica Lodge, Jaya Durga Lodge and Uma Lodge.
The biggest statue of Swami Vivekananda is a major tourist attraction in this place. Rajahmundry is a beach city, so the weather here is pleasant all around the year. Summer time is the best season to visit the place, though it remains a bit hot and humid. In winter the tour can also be planned as the temperature continues to be very pleasantly cool. People who do not prefer hot and humid weather can come in the winter. Hotels are also available at different price range.
Srikalahasti
Srikalahasti an ancient holy place of India. The area is famous for being the witness of many sages attaining Mukti or Moksha. Therefore, the area is considered to be the Punyakshetra. It’s believed that when you visit the area, all your sins purified for getting in touch with the Holy place. The ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The place is only 49 km away from Tirupati, so, when you are going to Tirumala Tirupati, a visit to the Srikalahasti becomes unavoidable. APSRTC has buses plying very frequently every half an hour from Tirupati. Srikalahasti is connected to the railways as well. The place is famous for wooden panel curving of Madhava Mala Artists. Also, beautiful Kalamkari designs and pattern are done with vegetable colors. The place has some excellent lodging facilities. Though there is a dress code in puja, the temple authority does not maintain it too strictly. Do not buy puja materials from the stalls outside because with the 1000 rupee tickets you will be given all the things needed for puja.
Talakona Waterfalls
Talakona Waterfalls has located at only 64 km away from the holy pilgrimage of Tirumala Tirupati. Talakona Falls is an excellent attraction situated in Sri Venkateswara National Park near Nerabailu Village of Chittoor district in Andhra Pradesh. The place is just not beautiful but serene. People searching for a different experience altogether can plan their trip to Talakona Waterfalls. The waterfalls situated in the middle of the dense forest of lush green. If you visit Talakona Waterfalls just after the monsoon season, a bright, vibrant green forest will welcome you, and the falls will also be flamboyant. It is believed that the water of the Talakona Waterfalls enriched with herb with healing power. In 1990 the Talakona Waterfalls was declared Bio Sphere Reserve for its enormous variety of plants and herbs. It is an ideal getaway from Chennai for a one day tour. In this forest, one can find a variety of endangered species like sambar, porcupine, cheetah, golden gecko, Indian giant squirrel, slender Loris, panther and mouse deer, etc. Accommodation is also available in this dense forest for a very cheap rate. The forest department has Guest House where suits and dormitories can be booked. You can make the booking with the forest department. The best time to visits the place is from September to January.
Vijayawada
The third largest and future capital Vijayawada is a well-known city in Andhra Pradesh. Located on the banks of river Krishna surrounded by the Indrakeeladri hills on the west. It is about 275 km away from the state capital Hyderabad. Vijayawada has a great importance in the trade, and thus it is called as the “business capital” of Andhra Pradesh. That is why the population in this 61 sq. Km city area is quite dense. Vijayawada is the largest junction of the south central railways. All leading Airlines connect the city with Hyderabad, Bangalore, and Chennai. There are lots of places to visit – the first and foremost will be Kanaka Durga Temple, located on the Indrakeeladri hills. Inscription of different dynasties can be found here. The next destination must be the Gunadal Matha Shrine; the Prakasam barrage is also a place to visit, built across the river Krishna connecting Guntur district; Prakasam Barrage has created a panoramic lake. Undavalli caves that are said to have been curved in 7 Th century A.D. The Buddhist monks used this two-storeyed cave for resting. There is also a monolith statue of Anatha Padmanava Swami in a reclining posture is a thing worth a visit. The Rajiv Gandhi Park, Gandhi Hill, and Victoria Museum are must see places. In Addison to this, some places are also important that cannot be missed out – Hazarat Bal Mosque, Mangalagiri, Kondapalli Fort, Amaravati to name a few. There is no lack of different budget hotels at Vijayawada. Food options are also very cheap and available.
